Do you wear your baby? 5+Reasons why you should.

Baby-wearing became an essential part of my new motherhood road mainly for convenience but
Do you know it is highly beneficial for both you and your baby/toddler?

1. Hands free! Mom can walk around freely and won't have to worry about narrow aisle or big crowds.
2. Helps you and your baby/toddler* to communicate better.
3. It helps to calm and soothe fussy babies
4.Provides baby/toddler* with proper spinal positioning
5. Provides emotional safety
+ and my TOP reason "YOU CAN EXERCISE"
Mommas we know how hard it is to find time to exercise after having a baby. It seems like there are not enough hours on a day to complete household and mommy duties.
I started wearing baby Misael around the house and while walking our dog until finally one day he did not want to take a nap so I decided to work out wearing him on the baby carrier and for my surprise after a few minutes baby felt asleep. It was awesome and ever since that day I can't stop loving it.
I have designed a workout for all you mommas and I can't wait to tell you all about it soon.

Hugs and Kisses
xoxo

*Toddler also benefit from baby wearing and must baby carriers or slings can hold 35-40lbs.

The reason why I started this blog

I've been thinking so much about this post. Trying to put the right thoughts and words in order. It is a special blog post for me, very dear to my heart because I will open up and share with you my struggle.
While pregnant my husband and I waited to find out the sex of the baby until our baby shower which was at my 7th month. Until then we had no idea if we were having a boy or a girl. One day we were getting ready to go to church and as usual I was running late doing my make-up or changing my outfit (I can't recall) but I remember that my dear husband was upset because we were running late again and He kind of whisper "If we have a girl, I hope she is not like you". I did not pay too much attention at that moment but later on I spoke to him about it. I asked him what did he mean when he said that. I was afraid of his answer because I already knew what was about to come out of his mouth.
The truth is that I struggle with my image as my identity. And I do not only mean my body (if I am fit and slim) but also my hair, my clothes, and wearing make up in my face, what people think of me and how others view me. My husband many times before have told me "You don't have to look 20 pounds lighter, you don't have to wear make up, you don't have to have the perfect outfit or the perfect hair, YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL just they way you are" He repeats that to me every time and I still didn't get it. Even though we've been married for 8 years now I know He loves me and I know his opinion is important to me but there is always that voice inside of me saying no, you need some make-up, you need some new clothes, blah blah blah.
In reality, the truth is that I believed the lie that society constantly tell woman, "If you look like this then you are beautiful. I constantly see how other women seek through surgery, unhealthy habits and all kinds of products; the answer for what they think will make them feel beautiful. But I tell you guys NO more. I work out because I enjoy it and it is good for my health and to be honest I do want to look slim and firm but it is no longer who I AM. I am beautiful even if I don't loose weight, if I don't wear make up or have my hair and nails done. Because what matter MOST is who you are inside. How many times you look at the mirror and ask yourself "How's my heart? Do I have envy in my heart? Pride? Selfishness? These are things that makes a woman UGLY. NOT your outward appearance but what do you have inside.
In conclusion, NO I am not perfect and YES I still struggle with my image and how I view myself and how others view me. But I am a work in progress and all I know is that I do not want my "future daughter" if I ever have any to doubt how beautiful she is, to find herself beautiful only when she wears make up and/or her hair and nails looks perfect. I want my daughter to be a woman of virtue, love, compassion, humility and self-confidence. I want my son to look for those same attributes in his future wife, not an outwardly beauty but a beauty that resides in the heart. If that is what I want then it has to start with me.I admit I can do it alone, I need God to help me, everyday. I need to believe his word that I am beautiful and wonderfully made.
Yes, I am and you are too.

God bless you All

MOTIVATION

Let's talk about the M word.  Let me first establish that it is my opinion that without motivation there is no change. I don't care how much knowledge you may have about nutrition; what to eat or what not to eat or how many equipments or DVDs you owned, if you are not motivated to change the rest is pointless. That's why I've decided to talk about it. What motivates You to exercise and eat healthy? It is a picture, a song, a friend? I believe the most important motivation comes from within. Yes, it is crucial to have a friend or a loved one who motivates you and supports you but it is as important to develop self-motivation and self-discipline. I believe Motivation is like a muscle,is there, it is in you but you have to know how to work it, develop it and maintained it for it to have power, growth and strength.
So go ahead and take sometime now and meditate on the reasons why you wanna be a fit mama. Why is it important for you to be fit and healthy? How does it make you feel when you fit on that old dress? How do you feel after eating a healthy meal or/and an exercise routine? Find within you the desire, the drive, the passion and talk to yourself  (preach it) over and over. I WANT, I CAN and I WILL.
This is our work out routine for the day. Starts with your mind.

Sssssshhhhhhh This is MY secret ;-)

So many people ask me "what is your secret?" Well I am going to share it with you all today.
Here it is... (drums roll please...lol:)) INTERVAL Training* (my version lol I modified it too maximize benefit and to well utilize my time which is very limited with my adorable 8 month old).
What is Interval Training? It involves repeated bouts of harder work interspersed with periods of easier work ( or occasionally short rest periods). Interval Training CAN be used for all fitness levels it does not matter if you are at beginners or an advance level. (that's why I love it!!)
Let me give you an example if you are beginner, IT for you can start as easy as doing 3 minutes on the treadmill (also you can use the bike or the elliptical) walking slow or around 3 mph with no inclination then follow by 1 minute of "hard" work around 3.5 mph (around 14 on the RPE*) You can repeat this for 20 minutes and if you add a 5 minute warm up and a 5 minute cool down YOU ARE SET, DONE with your work out for the day!
In just 30 minutes you had a total body work out; it is not boring, it boost your metabolism, accelerate fat lost and tone you body! Not to mention that as a mom we have very little time for ourselves, Let's face it. It in not an excuse to say "as a Mom I have very little time to exercise" (because we DO) nevertheless IT IS an excuse to say "I DON'T have time to exercise" because you can make time for whatever you like (cutting TV time, or logging off Instagram or Pinterest (in my case :) jajjaja) per example)
Come on lovely ladies WE can do this. so STOP reading this blog and go and get yourself a gym partner (your bff, your neighbor, you hairstylist, anyone) and START working on your post_baby_body I can't say it's gonna be easy but I promise that it's gonna be worthy it!

Bellow I will put this morning work out routine I did with another mommy. We met today at 6am (While the husbands and babies slept) and work out for 30 minutes.
5:00 minutes Warm up ( walk to the gym)
3:00 Jogging on the treadmill
2:00 lunges with weights ( I used 20 lbs, my friend used 10lbs)
3:00 Jogging
2:00 triceps dip
3:00 jogging
2:00 overhead press
3:00 jogging
2:00 T raises w weights (works out your biceps and triceps)
5:00 minutes cool down
WEIGHTS: Ladies please do not be afraid of incorporating weights into your routine, you will burn more fat during and after your workout and while pairing it with your cardio you will NEVER be bulky nor have men looking arms :)
SO this is IT the secret is out! jajajjaja no big secret at all
Go ahead and share with me your comments or your personal work out secret, remeber sharing is caring...
to all my lovely moms out there, wishing you much success
God bless you all
